Hello everyone David here. I received an email last night from an old friend of mine. I met her in Prague, wandering aimlessly with her traveling companion. Oddly enough, we were both from the L.A. area; small world, right? She was attending college at UC Santa Barbara while I was going to the University of Redlands. In May of 2004, Nick and I made this board for her, it is one of the original decks that I pressed in my garage out of Baltic birch and Nick Brown painted it using acrylic paints. The grip tape actually took three of us to do [myself, Nick Brown and Nathaniel Lourn] and it reads "Kamala" or Lotus Flower in Hindi script. Hope you guys like it!

Hey everyone. I got an email the other day with this photo attached to it. This is Pat Gosch, a guy that lived in the same dorm as Nick Brown and I during our first year at the University of Redlands. He was the first person to buy one of our decks and this particular deck just so happens to be the very first one that Nick ever painted. I pressed the board out of Baltic birch in my father's garage in Claremont,CA and I remember having it in our dorm room and Nick asking me if it would be alright if he painted it. He painted it and Pat wanted to buy it... he gave us 80 dollars and a wetsuit... Nick and I used the money to buy a few cases of Keystone Light hahaha. The board is signed "BZ" and "Hardcore Dave" Hopefully I'll get some more photos of the original boards we made... one could say that this is the FIRST Miramar Longboard. Have a great weekend everyone!

Good evening! Normally I would wait until the morning to post something like this, but I just couldn't wait. Nick sent me a picture tonight from his laptop showing me the progress of the Spring Rampage board he's been crafting. I'll tell you all the details when the board is finished... Hope you like the snapshot, this thing is going to be sweet!

Hello everyone it's David. I just wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know that Nick Brown sold a painting over the weekend. Nick and I have been friends since we first met in college and he was still at the beginning of his art studies. I like to brag that I am Nick's second biggest fan [his biggest fan being his grandmother of course!] so it is always exciting for me when he sells a painting. Nick painted this particular painting during a live-painting session at the Millard Sheets Gallery in Pomona, CA. I wanted to share that painting with all of you here on our blog, so here it is, Evolution by Nick Brown.
